The Australian market increased in February, with the ASX Small Ordinaries increasing by 1.3% for the month. The Affluence Small Company Fund decreased by 0.4% in February, to bring total performance since inception 10 months ago to 9.5%. The Fund was held back this month by three of the unlisted funds decreasing by -2.8% to -4.2%.
We do not focus on short term performance for any of our investments. We are confident that all three funds can outperform their benchmarks over the medium to long term. The major positive contributor this month was the Phoenix Opportunities Fund which increased by 4.8%.
At the end of February, the Affluence Small Company Fund held investments in 4 unlisted funds representing 61% of the total portfolio. The Fund also held 6 LICs accounting for 17% of the total portfolio, and the balance 22% cash.
